Substitution of controls on any blowmoulding machine

The wide range of PLCs and electronic components, used in the last 20 years by the manufacturers of blow molding machines, poses a very serious problem: how to find spare parts, PLC boards, electronic I / O cards, CPUs or HMI panels no longer in production?

What to do in case of total loss of software data due to lack of backup, non-functioning or discharged batteries?

Sometimes the electric, hydraulic or pneumatic diagram is not available.

In these cases, BlowMouldingOnly offers the "turnkey" replacement of PLCs and old electrical panels, typically made with two architectures:
  • Compact architecture consisting of one or more racks of electronic boards placed inside the electric panel. In this case, the data is transmitted via a RS232 serial cable (without fieldbus or Ethernet cables). In the compact architecture, the PLCs were programmed with software owned by the PLC supplier.
  • Distributed architecture in which the electronic cards (to manage limit switches, sensors, solenoid valves) are located in various areas of the blowmolding machine to improve the transmission of signals and minimize electrical wiring. Data transmission takes place via fieldbus or Ethernet cables.

HOW TO SUBSTITUTE THE PLC

To formulate a detailed offer of PLC replacement, it is necessary to provide:
  1. Photographs of the machine and the electrical panel.
  2. Electric, pneumatic and hydraulic diagram.
  3. List of specific needs; for example: interfacing with external leak-testers, scales, bottle conveyor belts, etc.
Based on this information, we will be able to make a feasibility study, issue an offer and possibly organize an inspection visit to your factory for further details.

FEATURES OF NEW PLCs FOR BLOWMOULDING MACHINES

BlowMouldingOnly offers the possibility to choose between two PLC brands: Gefran and MOOG.

Both companies offer similar performance in terms of performance, ease of use, spare parts availability and allow the I / O modules to be positioned appropriately to save wiring costs.

The range of digital and analog I / O modules is very wide, allowing to manage proportional valves and temperature profiles.

The supply of the new PLC includes the updating of the wiring diagram, respecting the original numbering of the wires. Furthermore, the replacement of the PLC and the related wiring can be performed by the customer's electricians; our technicians will intervene to install the software, perform the final test and proceed with training to the staff.
